Forgotten Books

Here at Forgotten Books, we shine a light on unread stories. My name is Juliette and I founded Forgotten Books in 2026, driven by a passion for raising awareness about unread stories. Usually, these auto/biographies are written by people from underrepresented countries, and these books are often published in the relative country’s native language for several years before being published in English and reaching a much larger audience.

I have always been puzzled by why almost all books in Western libraries are written by American, Canadian, British and Australian writers – the world of books is so much bigger than that! Widespread reading of international books would increase global awareness, which I think is really important because we are all human beings sharing one planet.

I post a book review here every Saturday at 12pm AEDT. Each post is about an auto/biography that I believe is underrepresented, either because of the author’s home country or the period of history it happened in.
